Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is a Mexican American sportscaster. She currently works for ESPN as a reporter for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. She joined ESPN in 2016. joined ESPN. Her mother is the TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bi-lingual since nine years old, a valuable ability that allowed her to secure her first job in the production department for Univision in Miami that gave her the chance to collaborate with producers of National programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. After this she was hired by her CBS affiliate of St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. In 2009 she moved in Rio Grande Valley to work as a journalist for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. In addition to reporting on issues related to the issue of immigration and drug trafficking from both sides of the border, she was an anchor for newscasts at 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor, reporter and later anchor for anchoring the 9 p.m. news in English and also a reporter again for news at 10:30 p.m. Spanish newscast. Also, she was often requested to fill in as anchors for the weather and sports. Then she anchor and wrote on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She was born November 22 on the 22nd of October, 1985 in Mexico City. She has an older sister. The family moved from Mexico to Miami in 1992 after leaving Mexico. Soon after they separated, and in the year 1995, Fabio Fajardo got married again. He died of kidney cancer in 2006. It was during a time of summer when she was with her sister at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had gotten the job. As a senior in high school and yet knowing exactly what she wanted to do in her future, Antonietta visited her local University of Mount Union to assess if it suited her preferences. At the end of the day she was enthralled with the campus. The university offered her an academic major. Her high school graduation was in the spring of 2004 and began studying media at the university. Mark Bergmann, her professor who also managed WRMU's 91.1FM station, where she was employed for many years, became her friend. Mark Bergmann inspired her to be self-confident and also his love for journalism deeply influenced her. She in turn, strived to meet the expectations of him and not failed him.
